1. Science Technology Center (SCITECH) Located along Corniche Road, in just 5 minutes drive from the hotel, you will find Science centers and museums which offer unique resources for informal learning, places to discover, explore and test ideas about the natural world. A perfect place to visit for the family.
2. THE SAUDI ARAMCO EXHIBIT This fascinating exhibit ensures enjoyment to every excursionist. The Exhibit uses state-of-the-art technology to intrigue, involve and educate visitors. This includes interactive games and variety of hands on displays. A distinguished exhibit because of its Arabic-Islamic technical heritage which relays the history of the petroleum industry. Everything extracts from important Medieval Islamic manuscripts to videos & computers games presented in Arabic & English.
3. DAMMAM MUSEUM The museum deals with the development of civilization in the Eastern Province. There is a comprehensive collection of coins from throughout the ages on display.
4. Royal Commission Visitor Center – JUBAIL Industrial City
Located north of Jubail and is just in front of the Royal Commission building. In the center are displays which explain the concept behind Jubail Industrial City, its development up to date and plans for expansions.
5. Youth Center for Science & Technology Has recently had many of its interactive displays updated. This is an enjoyable and educational afternoon out for the whole family with lots of exhibits on which o learn as you play.
6. Last Old House in Qatif - QATIF Situated opposite of the City Hall, the old house has ancient architectural features of interest including Islamic arch and drop privy built out over the street.
7. The Turkish Bathhouse Otherwise know as Hamma Abu Louza. Covered by a Turkish style dome hot springs would bubble up creating a warm plunge pool emitting a plentiful supply of heat and vapor for the steam bath.
SIGHTSEEING:
1. AL KHOBAR CORNICHE With its green environment, Corniche is the ideal get away for nature lovers. Fascinating and exquisite restaurants and play areas are all situated in this area. Just a five minutes drive from the hotel.
2. Al Tuwayya Tower - JUBAIL Located on the northern perimeter of Old Jubail adjacent to the a main road, the tower was built to protect a well and constructed during the time of King Abdulaziz.
3. Desert Truffle Hunts A well kept secret, the desert truffle is a culinary delicacy rarely seen and even more rarely tasted. Faga as they locally known are ripe for picking during January & February and can command prices of up to SR 200 a punnet.
4. Nairiya Thursday Market If your head north from Jubail, following the signs for Hafr Al Batin, you will reach the village of Nairiya, a traditional Bedouin Market is held here every Thursday.
5. Tarut Island - TARUT Can be reached by crossing the causeway from Qatif, It was the center for trade fishing and pearls industry for over 7,000 years and there a few ancient sites of interest to see.
6. Darin Village - DARIN Located at the south eastern end of the island, pearls trade was concentrated here today and is still a busy fishing port.
7. Al Hasa Oasis - HUFUF The largest natural Oasis in the world located in the town of Hofuf.
8. Jebel Gara - HUFUF Also in town of Hofuf, Jebel which means mountain in Arabic and Al Gara is the name of the area. Rock formations were molded naturally during prehistoric era through the actions of the waves and tidal flows eroded submerged reactions of the rock to form labyrinth of caves.
9. Snorkeling and Scuba Diving – AL KHOBAR & JUBAIL It is the dream of many expatriates. The local diving season lasts from April to November outside of which the relatively cool water from the Arabian Gulf.
